All paintings must be conserved from time to time. Even well
maintained paintings come in contact with dust, pollutants,
pollen, sun, and variable temperatures. These normal factors
take a large toll on paintings. In many cases, a painting also
encounters unforeseen or accidental damage such as a rip, scratch,
tear, puncture, mold, water damage, fire, and insects. A painting
is a vulnerable object. At Ponsford our conservators have proven
time and again that these damaging influences are no match for
our expertise and knowledge.
