Why should I have
a formal appraisal made?
There are many reasons an individual, institution or family
may
desire to seek a formal appraisal. Formal appraisals can be written
for insurance, gifts, estates, the division of property, etc.
The
fact is, if you have a high dollar painting, sculpture or other antiquity,
it provides peace of mind to have a formal appraisal done
by an experienced
professional appraiser. |
What will I receive with my
appraisal?
With a formal appraisal, each item is described in detail with an
accompanying photograph of the object. A cover letter is also
provided
in which we state the purpose of the appraisal, our understanding
of its written requirements or dissociation with
any conflict of interest
(including a value contingent fee), and our certification that we
have abided by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisers Practice.
